Fraser McFarlane moved to Brighton about 18 months ago and has recently discovered our local countryside and pockets of urban greenspace which help satisfy his passion for nature and wildlife.
Once a week he gets out with the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers to carry out a half day of conservation activity, which he says can sometimes feel like “tidying up the countryside” but the Countryside Rangers who plan the programmes of work assure him that its really about creating better habitat for wildlife. For Fraser though, it is being outside, in the open air which makes it particularly worthwhile . He just wishes it was more than once a week. He gets another dose of the outdoors helping at the Community Allotment in Walpole Road, Whitehawk
