Lunch at Oakwell Hall, Birstall

This delightful sixteen century stone house is owned by Kirklees Council and is a succession of rewarding and exciting rooms and features, all set up as it might have been in the 17th century. Visit the virtual tour on the Friends of Oakwell Hall website to see what I mean.
But my story this time is about the cafe. Between the three of us we ordered two cheese and tomato panini and a sausage sandwich (yes that was me). The young girl behind the counter offered a little salad with the panini but red or brown sauce with the sausage sandwich. Clearly a big divide shows up here.
