Chaffinches, pied flycatchers and a heron

Still Monday and still down in the Lyn valley at Watersmeet.
The work was cleaning the surface of a length of footpath with rakes and shovels; and cutting back intruding brambles with a tool that may have been called a slasher, but slashing was not the way to use it – more hook on and pull sharply.
Saw chaffinch parents feeding their young. Some of the adults had bulbous and ugly feet. Julian said it was the result of a mite infection, and called bumblefoot.
