Piped water supply in West Lulworth

When we were staying in West Lulworth a month or so ago I read about the street wells and their replacenment by piped water.  Then saw two cast iron plates set in walls in the main street, both having the names T Kennedy and Kilmarnock cast into them.  Clearly linked to piped water, I thought.

A google search led me to a similar Lake District piece of kit from the same foundry.
