Spring is in the Air

On Saturday 3rd March I saw toads in the garden pond for the first time this year, and then nearly stood on a frog standing still and erect on the lawn (well, the grassy area anyway).  No sign of any spawn from either yet – Tuesday 6th March.

High above the pond are bunches of yellow hazel catkins, dropping pollen in the breeze.  Even watched two big bumble bees bending the daffodils down with their weight.
