Growing our own Food – well, some of it

Last night we agreed that dinner had proved to be rather special, and worthy of recording.  We had several separate dishes – somewhat Tapas-like.  Broad beans and prawns cooked with garlic.  Potatoes, sauted with chopped onion and chorizo.  Scrubbed carrots, boiled and glazed with butter, seasoned with black pepper.  Chopped and steamed multi-coloured chard.  Side salad of radishes and thinnings of yellow carrots, spring onions and rocket.

Those carrots are so . . .carroty

What made the it was that all the vegetables came from either the allotment, the greenhouse or the front garden.

But the carrots would only have won awards on that old Esther Ranson show.
