Bottling Stingo Number 1 this afternoon

To mark my discovery of Thomas Tiller, the Newhaven brewer, I started a 5%-ish ale three weeks ago.  It has been conditioning in a barrel for over a fortnight, and today I cleaned enough bottles to transfer all 4 gallons to bottles. I also discovered a new ale name.  Whilst looking up ‘Hue’ in the dictionary I encountered Huff-cap.  Amongst other things it is a strong heady ale (1577). I guess that’ll be the name of the next one.

Dear Sir, your comment :- To mark my discovery of Thomas Tilling, the Newhaven brewer,is way out of line, His name was Thomas Tipper, and ’tis said The Prince of Wales gave him a Royal Warrant to provide Tipper Ale at the Roayl pavilion in Brighton
