Tuesday 29th January saw six folk assemble at Planet India, a fine vegetarian eatery just outside the Central Business District. We came together to spend our accumulated winnings from a year of pub quizzing, so we had to select a fairly cheap place if it was to go far.
There is a limited menu, but all is good if surprisingly hot, and a nice feature is you can order a split course – two half portions of different dishes. I think we all had the potato curry and several had the black chickpea curry. Some had spinach and paneer or peas and paneer. There was a delicate aubergine curry as well. The rice was white basmati and deliciously scented with cumin seeds (I think).
Last time we were there the beers were from Brew Dog, which was surprising but excellent. The brewer had changed but the excellence remained. This time it was Williams Brothers, with a big selection of beers. And we tried lots of them.
The bill was just £100, but slightly over half was for the beers. A good night.
