Christmas Eve Party

We held our usual party this year, and it felt very good.  Lousy weather kept some folk from coming, but enough people came to give the house a busy feel.  We cooked a lot of cheesy biscuits, onion bhajis and apple tarts (some with cheddar cheese on top), and they all went.

At the start, before anyone came, we had 15 bottles of beer and 12 bottles of wine.  After everyone had gone we still had 12 bottles of wine, and 8 bottles of beer – just different ones!

Fred gave me a bottle of a very strong Brew Dog beer.  It was black and tasted like hoppy Black Molasses.  Startling stuff, and 13 percent alcohol.
