A bike ride and a couple of fine beers

For the first time in over two years I went out on my bike yesterday.  Decided to use the new cycle lanes on the Lewes Road – I bet they get a bit swamped by students heading to Falmer.  Found my way to the Keep – our newly built historical resource centre – only to discover its shut on a Monday.

Went on by bike lane to Falmer football stadium.  So big for a little village.  Circumnavigated it, then headed back into town.  Bike got back in good condition, me less so.

Mid afternoon and four of us went to the Park department’s estate to view some big steel planters they will let us have if we can move them.  Well over a tonne each, but lighter if we can dig out the earth and oak tree planted in it.

And this is where the story really starts - first, empty your planter.

Much later in the day, having forgotten the exercise of cycling, I felt the need of a walk.  So went to the Evening Star.  Had halves of Brodies American Brown (5.3%) and then Wild Beer’s madness IPA (6.8%) – the second being so good I had to have another half.
