Train to Yorkshire – I know it was a long time ago, damn it.

We passed Biggleswade sewage treatment works.  But Anglian Water clearly don’t think sewage is a nice word.  The big, bold purple and white sign facing the railway (there is nothing else there from which any readers may see it) proclaims it to be ‘Biggleswade Water Recycling Centre’.

Yes, it seems that cleaning up dilute human excrement is unpalatable to the nice folk at Anglian Water.  I checked out an on-line publication of theirs – its all ‘recycling’, not ‘treatment’, and ‘water’ not ‘sewage’ – all except one item on the last page, where the brave new world of water recycling had not got total control – it spoke of a ‘Water Recycling Treatment Works’ west of Cambridge.  Heads will roll!
