Sundial Conference – Day 2

The new Greenwich University was exceptionally blessed when it was formed – it gained instant heritage by moving into the buildings of the old Naval College.  This staircase was the best way to leave the third floor rooms and lecture theatre we occupied.

Scores of shallow stone steps, chandeliers on chains, and Jackie somewhere in there.

As we filed out for coffee after one particularly long talk Rosy Evans said “What a long talk.  The mind can only absorb what the bottom can withstand.”  I don’t know how old Rosy is, but Frank, her husband, will be 88 next birthday.  Met up with them both after 11pm that evening when we visited another member’s hotel room to talk and drink Irish whisky.  You need stamina for the British Sundial Society Conference.
