Upper Lewes Road is OPEN.

New traffic lights at the end of our road are letting traffic flow for the first time in over two months.  So exciting.  Been wandering about seeing how cyclists are coping with new routes across front of Sainsbury’s (some cyclists don’t even notice there is a cycle route, others find it, but all are prone to traffic trying to cut across them if cars want to go up Hollingdean Road and cannot wait for the cyclists to pass).

Met the Council Road Safety Officer who told me that the lights should allow more heavily trafficked lanes to stay on green lights longer, but all is being ‘bedded in now’.

Red lights at the east end of Upper Lewes Road. Vehicles can leave ULR to turn left, a second cycle allows traffic to enter ULR from gyratory.
