On Sunday 21st took a train to Shoreham and the Wellington to hear Robb. It was crowded by 1.30pm. Over two hours I drank some Hophead and Barnsley Bitter, and (best of all) Long Man’s Pale.
Some excellent lyrics, including:
‘with a skinful of cheap lager and tatoos’ and ‘you don’t ask for the moon on Hounslow high street’
as well as a song called ‘Government by merchant bankers’.
Too crowded to see the stage, so after 2 hours I left, and had a few halves in The Old Star micropub, including a very rich plum and chocolate porter and a milkstout. Popped into the Buckingham for a drop of Landlord to pass the time before the Brighton train. Saw a fine Staffordshire pottery Tom Paine sat on a beer barrel, globe and book in his hands.
