To the woods – third attempt ( and the start of the 61st minute trying to do a simple blog)

Walked to Stanley  Park to draw.  Big trees and small birds including Douglas fir, Western Red Cedars black woodpecker with red head, small songbird with black bib and a Douglas  squirrel.

Found the sea after a few hours, complete with 16 high-riding bulk cargo ships waiting to load I know not what.

On the way to town found a sundial erected to celebrate 3 greenhorn Englishmen who lodged the first land claim here in 1862.

A bar called the Three British stood temptingly nearby, so we succumbed and sampled Driftwood Fat Tug IPA  and Red Racer Copper Ale.  Spotted a Greek eatery where we returned in the evening for dinner without beer (but with a British Columbia wine).
